The best course, closest to us is Golf de Touraine, found not far from Tours, at Ballan-Miré (works well for non-golfers who are able to pop into historic Tours for a spot of lunch and some shopping).
There are other golf courses - of varying quality - nearby including:
Domaine de Roiffé near Fontevraud (can work well if some want to golf, some want to visit the Abbey there but, golf-wise, this course is not as rated as the Golf de Touraine). You can also ride at Roiffé - please also see HORSE RIDING.
There is also a 9-hole course in Saint Florent, near Saumur - again, handy if some in your party want to go to Saumur - which has a very good (food) market on Saturdays.
Depending which direction you are heading in when you leave, there are quite a few other courses to consider that may be en route, including one at Loches as well as La Roche Posay, which is probably the most notable.
North of us is Golf d’Angers (as the name rather suggests, it’s near Angers!) and Baugé.
